FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHICH PAYMENT METHODS DO YOU ACCEPT?

Credit/debit only for telehealth services.

DO YOU BILL THROUGH INSURANCE PLANS?

We currently accept Aetna, Blue Shield of CA PPO, Optum/United Behavioral Health, and others for individual therapy services. Insurance does not cover coaching and personal growth services when there is no psychiatric diagnosis or medical need.

HOW MUCH CAN I EXPECT TO PAY FOR THERAPY SERVICES?

We do our best to ensure our prices are at standard rates for coaching and mental health services in the area. Fees will be discussed when you contact us.

*If you do not show to a scheduled appointment or fail to cancel more than 24 hours in advance, you will still be charged the session fee.

HOW LONG DO THERAPY SERVICES LAST?

This depends on several factors. The length of treatment varies depending on the severity and complexity of your presenting concerns, response to treatment and the level of your engagement and adherence to recommendations. Some services can be relatively brief (3 to 6 sessions) and others can span 6 months or longer. Following intake, we would be able to provide a more accurate timetable and treatment plan for therapy services. Most evidence-based treatments are at least 12 sessions for mental health diagnoses.

WHEN AM I EXPECTED TO PAY?

Payment is expected prior to each scheduled session.

DO YOU OFFER DISCOUNTS OR SLIDING SCALE FEES?

If encountering financial hardship we can discuss options for treatment with you.

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED FOR IN-PERSON SERVICES?

We are currently only seeing clients through video/telehealth services. In most cases, telehealth services have been shown to be as effective as in-person services.

ARE TELEHEALTH SERVICES APPROPRIATE FOR ME?

Telehealth is not appropriate for everyone as it can present its own unique challenges that are not common during in-person sessions. You will first want to ensure you have a quality internet connection and a private, quiet place to complete sessions. In most cases we do not use telehealth if we determine that your presented concerns would be better treated in-person due to complexity, severity or safety concerns. Our top priorities are your safety and well-being and the delivery of quality services. We will not use telehealth if we believe the quality of services will be jeopardized. If this is the case for you, we will provide you with referrals to in-person services.
